WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
We are looking for an experienced Senior Pricing Executive who can go beyond simply collecting rates and preparing quotations.
This role requires strong freight forwarding knowledge, commercial awareness, market understanding, and the ability to develop competitive logistics solutions while protecting company profitability.
You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, overseas agents, carriers, and vendors to improve quotation quality, response speed, booking win rate, and Gross Profit.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
1. Pricing & Quotation Management
Handle end-to-end pricing and quotation activities for:
• Air Freight – Import & Export
• Ocean Freight – FCL/LCL, Import & Export
• Cross-border transportation
• Trucking
• Customs Clearance
• Warehousing
• Door-to-Door / DDP / DAP / EXW solutions
• Project Cargo and special logistics requirements
Prepare accurate, timely, and commercially competitive quotations based on customer and sales requirements.
Understand the full logistics cost structure and ensure all relevant charges, risks, and operational requirements are properly considered before quotation submission.
Independently handle complex RFQs, Key Account enquiries, and multi-service logistics solutions.
2. Vendor & Overseas Agent Management
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with:
• Shipping lines
• Airlines
• Overseas agents
• Co-loaders
• Trucking companies
• Customs brokers
• Warehousing providers
• Other logistics vendors
Proactively source and negotiate competitive buying rates, free time, capacity, credit terms, and other commercial conditions.
Build alternative vendor and routing options instead of relying on a single source.
Continuously evaluate vendor competitiveness, service quality, reliability, and responsiveness.
3. Commercial Support & Win Rate Improvement
Work closely with Sales to understand:
• Customer requirements
• Target pricing
• Competitor situation
• Shipment potential
• Customer buying behavior
• Reasons for won/lost business
Recommend appropriate pricing strategies instead of simply providing buying cost plus margin.
Follow up on important quotations with Sales and revise pricing strategies where commercially appropriate.
Analyze lost quotations and identify actions to improve booking conversion / win rate.
4. Cost Control & Margin Protection
Balance price competitiveness and profitability for every quotation.
Review expected Gross Profit before quotation submission and ensure pricing complies with the company's margin and approval requirements.
Identify potential cost risks, hidden charges, rate validity issues, and margin leakage before booking.
Escalate quotations below target margin according to the company's approval process.
Conduct post-booking cost reviews when actual costs differ materially from quoted costs and identify root causes and corrective actions.
5. Market Intelligence
Actively monitor:
• Ocean and air freight market movements
• Carrier and airline rate changes
• Capacity and space conditions
• Peak season / low season trends
• Fuel and other surcharges
• Overseas agent pricing
• Major trade lane developments
• Vendor market conditions
Maintain and continuously update the pricing database.
Provide relevant market intelligence and recommendations to Sales and Management to support commercial decisions.
6. Key Account, Tender & Complex RFQ Support
Support pricing for Key Accounts, tenders, project cargo, and strategic opportunities.
Analyze RFQs carefully and identify commercial, operational, and cost risks before submission.
Coordinate with internal departments and overseas partners to develop competitive end-to-end logistics solutions.
Support Management and Sales in commercial negotiations when required.
7. Process Improvement & Internal Coordination
Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Accounting to ensure quoted solutions are practical and executable.
Maintain proper pricing records, quotation history, vendor rates, and approval records.
Identify repetitive pricing issues and propose improvements to:
• Quotation workflow
• Pricing database
• Vendor sourcing
• Cost control
• Internal coordination
• Pricing templates and tools
Support and guide junior Pricing members when necessary.
8. Report
• Prepare and submit reports as required by the Management.
• Ensure all required reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
