Position Objective:
• Achieve all Process Engineering, Production’s specific target and Autoliv Vietnam generic targets (Profitability, Policy deployment…) for IE.
Position Scope
• Report to the Process Engineering Manager
• Follow and promote all ALV Vietnam policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities of a Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer include:
• Optimize production processes (Lean/IE):
o Conduct time and motion studies to eliminate waste in production operations and reduce product cycle time.
• Production line balancing:
o Arrange workstations appropriately to avoid bottlenecks, minimize work-in-process (WIP), and increase production output.
• Research and design jigs/fixtures:
o Develop supporting tools or fixtures to help workers perform tasks faster, more accurately, and with fewer errors caused by improper positioning or handling.
• Analyze and optimize material utilization:
o Evaluate fabric and sewing processes to minimize material waste and reduce scrap rates.
• Develop and standardize procedures:
o Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training on standardized work methods to ensure consistent performance and operational efficiency.
[Requirements]
• Good English speaking and writing
• Mechanical/ Electrical/ Manufacturing background
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing preferable.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in operating and installing production lines.Priority will be given to candidates with experience as a Process Engineer in the garment manufacturing industry, especially those with in-depth knowledge of cutting and sewing processes and proven experience in optimizing production lines
• Hands-on experience in machine operation and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate root causes and prevent defect recurrence.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, BlueSky, etc.) to support decision-making.
• Eager to learn, proactive, and responsible with good teamwork and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, automation, and industrial equipment.
• Experience in modern manufacturing environments (Lean, TPM, ISO...) is a plus.
• Competitive salary up to 46 mil, depending on experience.
