General Description - The Solution Design Engineer is responsible for designing, costing, and proposing end-to-end Contract Logistics solutions that are operationally feasible, commercially competitive, and aligned with DSV standards. - The role works closely with Commercial, Operations, Support Functions, and Regional Solutions Design teams to translate customer requirements into robust warehousing, transport, and value-added service (VAS) solutions for both new business tenders and existing customer re-engineering initiatives. Responsibilities Solution Design & Engineering - Design Contract Logistics solutions covering: o Warehouse layout and capacity planning, equipment-MHE o Process flow design, labor modeling, and productivity assumptions o Value-added services (VAS) - Translate customer requirements, data inputs, and RFPs into clear solution concepts, assumptions, risks, and dependencies. - Ensure solutions comply with DSV operational standards, HSSE requirements, and regional / global design principles. Costing & Commercial Modeling - Develop detailed and transparent cost models, including: o Labor and productivity assumptions o Equipment, CAPEX, and depreciation o IT set up cost: system, IT infrastructure. o Operating expenses and margin scenarios - Work closely with Support Functions and Commercial teams to ensure pricing accuracy, transparency, and competitiveness. - Support sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, and risk assessments to ensure solutions are future-proofed. Tender & Bid Management Support - Support to prepare professional solution documentation, including: o Solution narratives o Process flows and layouts o Indicative rate for RFI. o Cost and pricing summaries o Assumptions, risks, and implementation considerations Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner closely with: o Commercial teams on opportunity shaping and win strategies o Operations teams to validate solution feasibility and implementation readiness o Engineering, IT, Construction & Facility, and other Support Functions on technical design elements - Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on solution feasibility, trade-offs, and optimization opportunities. Implementation & Continuous Improvement Support - Provide solution clarification and analytical support during implementation and go-live phases. - Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of Solution Design tools, templates, and processes. [Requirements] Skills & Competencies - Strong understanding of Contract Logistics operations and warehouse processes. - Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with large and complex data sets. - Advanced Excel skills; exposure to CAD, WMS concepts, and modeling tools is an advantage - Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline - 3-4 years of experience in position of warehouse supervisor, inbound/outbound team leader, solution design engineering - Exposure to warehouse automation, mechanization, or large-scale distribution operations is an advantage - Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
