JOB SUMMARY Pacific Informatics is building its bioinformatics services business, and we are looking for the person who will grow it. Your mandate is to sell PI’s bioinformatics solutions, anything from microbiome and metagenomics analysis, transcriptomics, variant calling, viral genomics, and custom pipeline development. Our target customers are research institutes, hospitals, universities, and biotechnology companies. You will sit with a researcher, understand their question, and design a service package around it together with our Bioinformatics Team. You will own the full cycle: finding the opportunity, scoping and quoting it, closing it, and staying with the customer through delivery so the next project comes back to us. This role suits a scientifically trained person who enjoys customer contact. We will teach you how to sell. We may be able to teach you how to read an omics dataset so a real working understanding of NGS data analysis is essential. We are appreciated a passionate person in this field to thread in Vietnam market base in our expert to provide Vietnam customers. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Business Development & Market Expansion Sales & Pipeline Management • Drive Revenue: Own and grow revenue from bioinformatics services. • Pipeline Management: Build, track, and maintain an accurate sales pipeline in the CRM. • Account Growth: Develop existing relationships and convert current customers into recurring clients. • Lead Qualification: Assess prospects' research goals, budget, and timelines to qualify high-value leads. Outreach & Engagement • Target Mapping: Identify potential clients across academia, hospitals, clinical labs, and biotech companies. • Strategic Outreach: Conduct cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone to introduce services. • Meeting Generation: Secure high-quality meetings for senior sales executives. Project Scoping & Deals • Project Scoping: Define sample numbers, sequencing strategies, and deliverables with the Bioinformatics Team. • Deal Closing: Prepare quotations, technical proposals, and SOWs to negotiate and close deals. Market Intelligence & Brand Representation • Competitor Tracking: Monitor the sequencing and analysis landscape in Vietnam and the region. • Event Representation: Represent the company at scientific conferences, workshops, and exhibitions. Sales Support • Sales Support: Assist the Sales Manager in supporting current dealers and customers to ensure smooth service delivery. 2. Technical Support. • Technical Demonstrations: Deliver compelling technical presentations and live software demos of bioinformatics tools, cloud platforms, and data analysis pipelines (e.g., RNA-Seq, WGS, WES, Single-cell) to scientific audiences. • Consultative Solutions: Analyze clients’ data bottlenecks and propose tailored bioinformatics workflows, algorithms, or cloud computing resources to meet their specific research or clinical needs. • Pre-sales Technical Support: Address complex technical inquiries regarding sequencing depth, coverage, alignment algorithms, variant calling, and data security standards. • Scientific Liaison: Act as a critical feedback loop between local researchers and the global technical/R&D team to facilitate product improvements based on market demand. • Coordinate with the technical and sale team to provide product support information to customers. [Requirements] Education & Experience • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a highly related life sciences discipline. • Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in NGS data analysis, laboratory research, or a technical pre-sales/application role within the life sciences industry. (Fresh graduates with strong computational portfolios are welcome to apply). Technical Skills • Solid understanding of NGS workflows (Library preparation, Sequencing chemistry, and Data generation). • Familiarity with bioinformatics command-line tools, public databases (NCBI, Ensembl, UCSC), and standard data formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF). • Experience with cloud-based genomic platforms (e.g., Illumina BaseSpace, DNAnexus) or standard pipeline tools is a strong plus. Soft Skills & Competencies • Communication: Exceptional ability to "translate" complex bioinformatics algorithms into clear, value-driven benefits for non-computational biologists and commercial stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills. • Language: Professional proficiency in English (both written and verbal) for reading scientific literature and communicating with regional technical teams. • Mindset: A proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives at the intersection of scientific curiosity and commercial targets. Ability to understand and explain technical product features. Good organizational and time management skills • Nationality: Vietnamese. • Practical experience with analysis tools: QIIME2, DADA2, phyloseq, DESeq2, nf-core pipelines, Nextflow, or with R/Python and the Linux command line. • Laboratory experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR or NGS library preparation. • Previous experience in technical sales, field application support or scientific customer support. • An existing network within the Vietnamese research, clinical genomics or biotech community. • Experience writing scientific proposals, grants or tender documents.
