MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with legal requirements and Carlsberg standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team to build technical capabilities, succession readiness, and a high-performance culture.
• Lead the technical team working on shifts and during daytime operations to implement maintenance activities according to the maintenance plan.
• Establish maintenance plans and manage spare parts availability to ensure readiness for maintenance activities (BD, TBM, CBM, OVH, etc.).
• Drive performance gap closure and continuous improvement in Maintenance (Mechanical, Automation, and Electrical) through the effective application of Carlsberg Excellence methodologies.
• Ensure that all Carlsberg standard methods, tools, and processes are implemented in accordance with regional and global requirements.
• Be directly responsible for OPEX budget allocation and control.
• Lead maintenance-related CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, and technical improvement initiatives.
• Lead spare parts management, including inventory optimization, critical spare identification, stock control, and cost efficiency.
• Manage external contractors and service providers to ensure safety, quality, and cost-effective execution of maintenance activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management
• Act as a leadership role model within the department and across the site.
• Ensure compliance with EHS/ISO standards (LOTO policy, food safety and hygiene standards) within the department.
• Responsible for the quality of maintenance work carried out by all direct employees.
• Responsible for implementing Policies and Processes within the department.
• Responsible for the development of direct reports; ensure competencies and skills align with business needs.
• Ensure people resource and demand plans are aligned.
• Ensure people performance management processes are followed — regular individual performance appraisals per HR standards.
• Act as escalation point for owner-operator mechanical/automation/electrical maintenance specialists in complex technical support incidents.
Process Management
• Ensure department PMS, standard meetings, reporting systems and processes are effective and follow group standards.
• Ensure Maintenance standards are developed and complied with.
• Ensure problem-solving methodologies are used to resolve day-to-day performance gaps and issues.
• Actively contribute to site strategy as part of the site management team.
• Be involved in development of the site Long Term Development Plan (LDP).
• Support M&OT Manager in preparing and implementing capital projects.
• Ensure 3rd-party services deliver on budget, time & quality.
Performance Management
• Prioritize focus areas for the brewery in the maintenance area.
• Control and manage maintenance area financial budget (OPEX); support site Capex budget.
• Prepare, gain approval for, and manage annual maintenance budgets.
• Review maintenance practices, successes & failures to continuously improve cost and performance.
• Cascade and manage team KPIs.
• Support and potentially lead improvement projects (Operational Savings).
Functional Specific Management
• Support development of annual and periodical maintenance plans.
• Ensure sufficient resource is allocated to key initiatives (internal or external).
• Ensure compliance with Group COM Maintenance standards.
• Drive target compliance of autonomous/preventative maintenance through maintenance and operational teams.
• Ensure Maintenance KPIs are understood and managed efficiently at an appropriate level (e.g., Maintenance cost, BD reliability MTBF/MTTR, OEE, loss, Pack Quality, MC, NMC, PM pillar compliance KPIs).
• Actively support Maintenance initiatives (NPD, Energy saving initiatives, Capital Projects).
• Drive Carlsberg Excellence development in the area of responsibility.
[Requirements]
Education:
• University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automation, and/or Electrical Engineering).
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a production environment, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Proven experience in developing people and organizational capabilities, managing budgets, and delivering performance improvements through the application of Carlsberg Excellence methodologies.
