PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Engineer, Product (NPI) industrializes new products at the Hung Yen plant and serves as the primary technical point of contact between the plant and Molex’s overseas design centres, ensuring the fit, form and function of both new and existing products. The role owns
local product documentation and engineering change execution, leads New Product Introduction from design transfer through to mass production, and partners with the Operations team to resolve product-related issues, raise First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce cost through continuous product and process improvement.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the key technical liaison between the Hung Yen plant and Molex overseas design centres, fostering clear communication and technical information exchange for new product set-up, product transfer and launch.
• Support and lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from design transfer through pilot build, qualification and process validation to ramp into mass production, including design reviews, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DVPR (Design Validation and Product Release), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and control plans.
• Own and maintain product data and documentation, including BOMs, drawings, specifications, work instructions, labeling, packaging and traceability records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and quality management standards.
• Review and approve engineering changes by evaluating their impact on manufacturing processes and product performance prior to mass production release.
• Partner with the Operations team to identify root causes of product-related issues and failures using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), implement corrective and preventive actions to closure, and drive improvements to product quality.
• Propose enhancements, design changes and new ideas to improve production yield, throughput, quality and cost, and lead implementation together with Manufacturing, Process, Tooling and Quality teams; develop and validate the associated test, inspection and tooling qualification plans.
• Standardize product documentation and records across part families, and support plant and area key initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and product quality.
• Provide technical support to customers and the Sales & Marketing team on product application, failure analysis and corrective action, and travel to overseas plants, design centres and customer sites as required.
• Fulfil responsibilities outlined in control plans, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field
PREFERRED: Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED: Minimum 5 years of product or manufacturing engineering experience in the electronics, connector or precision components industry, with strong proven experience in a manufacturing environment and hands-on involvement in new product launches
PREFERRED: Experience or support in product or New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering roles; experience in manufacturing processes (stamping, molding, plating, assembly, automation); exposure to working with overseas design centres and multi-site product transfers
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED: Proficient in Product Life-Cycle Management (PLM) systems. Experienced in BOM management, engineering change control and impact analysis. Skilled in interpreting GD&T and technical drawings.
Advanced professional proficiency in English. Methodical and detail-oriented, with strong critical
thinking, organization, problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a global team with high integrity. Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant quality tools. Willing to
travel to overseas plants and customer sites as required.
PREFERRED: Basic conversational Mandarin. Understanding and practical application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Competence in 8D/5-Why/FMEA, statistical analysis and SPC, process capability (Cp/Cpk) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA). Proficiency with 3D CAD and data analysis tools.
