JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an adaptable, proactive, and cross-functional Product / Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Hung Yen. In this role, you will be a key contributor to New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Business Quotation processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality) to analyze technical requirements, develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), drive Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) activities, evaluate Design FMEA (DFMEA), and manage Design Changes (DCR/ECR). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 1. BOM & Design Change Management • Create, review, and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for new project launches and mass-production phases. • Manage Engineering/Design Change Requests & Orders (ECR / DCR / ECO) to ensure seamless transition from design to shop floor. • Maintain engineering control prints, technical specifications, and official release documentation. 2. New Business Quotation & Cross-Functional Coordination • Support the RFQ (Request for Quotation) process for new vehicle models, variants, and electrical systems. • Act as the core technical coordinator: Collaborate closely with Sales, Purchasing, Costing, and Production teams to calculate material usage, assess engineering feasibility, and meet quotation deadlines. • Prepare and deliver technical feasibility packages and engineering presentations for customer reviews. 3. Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) & Cost Optimization • Actively identify, propose, and implement VAVE / Cost Reduction ideas (material optimization, supplier localization, component standardization, and design simplification). • Follow up on VAVE proposals with internal stakeholders and customer engineering teams until approval and production rollout. 4. Quality & Design Verification (DFMEA / DFM / DFA) • Participate in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) reviews to assess design risks and define robust preventive actions. • Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to optimize shop floor productivity and minimize assembly errors. • Support pilot build-up (first piece run), engineering evaluation, and engineering permit/deviation requests. [Requirements] BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related engineering disciplines. • Experience: Minimum 2–3+ years of engineering experience in Automotive, Electronics, Electrical, or general Manufacturing industries. • Hands-on, practical experience in BOM creation, BOM management, and product lifecycle workflows. • Solid understanding of Design Change Processes (ECR / DCR) and DFMEA methodologies. • Familiarity with VAVE principles and engineering cost-optimization initiatives. • Language & Communication: Proficient English communication skills (comfortable with technical email exchanges, reports, and spoken discussions with international colleagues/customers). • Computer & Office Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for complex BOM calculations, data analysis, and formula handling; Word and PowerPoint for professional documentation). • Basic working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar) is an advantage. • Soft Skills: Strong cross-departmental coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities. PREFERRED / ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS (NOT MANDATORY) • Prior exposure to Automotive Wiring Harness / Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS). • Familiarity with ICWC (Item Chart, Wire Chart), schematic diagrams, or harness topology. • Hands-on experience with ECAD tools (e.g., Capital Harness XC / CHS Logic / Zuken / AutoCAD Electrical). WORK LOCATION & WHY JOIN VERSIGENT VIETNAM? • Work Location: Industrial Park No. 03 (KCN số 3 / KCN Sạch), Xuan Truc, Hung Yen Province, Vietnam. • Benefits & Environment: Competitive compensation and benefits package aligned with multinational industry standards. • Opportunity to be part of a pioneering global leader in automotive electrical distribution architectures. • Dynamic, modern working environment with clear career development paths and exposure to world-class OEM projects.
